Lappe's Bee Supply
Lappe's Bee Supply offers some of the best mated Italian Hybrid queen bees for sale online! Queens will be shipped from April through the end of August. Queens will arrive in California mini queen cages or 3 hole queen cages. Regardless of whichever type of queen cage your queen arrives in, there will be a candy plug already in one end filled with queen candy. We recommend leaving this plug in when placing your new queen into the hive. Lappe's Bee Supply is not responsible for anything that happens because the bee keeper makes the choice to remove the candy plug or the queen candy from the queen cage. It is always better to allow her to stay in the queen cage with the candy plug intact, to give the worker bees time to get familiar with her pheromone and get her out of the cage themselves.

Queens cannot survive for long outside of honeybee hives! Your queen needs to be inside of the beehive where the worker bees can feed her and give her water and food. Please plan on putting your queen into your hive shortly after picking her up from the post office. Please do not leave queen bees sitting on the counter overnight!
All orders of 3 or more queens qualify for free shipping! Free shipped queen orders of 3 - 19 queen bees will be sent out through the USPS, and while shipping times vary, most arrive within 1 - 3 days. The queen shipment will be marked to be held at your post office, and they will give you a call at the number that you specify to alert you to come and pick up your queen honeybees. Please remember, just because you haven't heard from them doesn't mean you shouldn't call them to verify if they are ready to be picked up.
*IMPORTANT NOTE CONCERNING QUEEN SHIPMENT THROUGH USPS*
When queen bees are shipped through the USPS, the queen cages get glued down to safely secure them for shipping through the mail. We do this to prevent injury or death to the queen, because we care about the queen's health. We recommend cutting around the queen cage and leaving the cardboard backing on the cage. Wooden queen cages can be damaged by removing from the cardboard, to the extent of loss of bees. Please be aware that if you choose to remove the queen cage by tearing off from the cardboard backing, then you take full responsibility for the cage breaking and the chance of losing the queen. Lappe's Bee Supply can not / will not refund or replace the queen for this reason.
Please note: You need to pick up your queen bees on the day that the post office calls you, to ensure that your queens will all be alive. Lappe's Bee Supply & Honey Farm LLC is not responsible for any queens that do not survive because they are not picked up in time, or for any queens that are delivered to mailboxes at the customer's request to the post office.
Right after your queens ship out, usually mid - late afternoon, we will send a shipping confirmation to your email address that will contain your tracking number. Sometimes this email can end up in your spam folder, so please be sure to check there as well. It is every customer's responsibility to check on the shipping progress of their queens, so they can be ready when the bees arrive at the post office. If you haven't heard from the post office, and you think that the queens may be there, it is also your responsibility to call the post office to find out, or go in and see. Lappe's Bee Supply will not replace dead queens that have sat at the post office for several days or over the weekend. It is at our discretion to replace queens, based on what events took place. Important - Please Note: if you have multiple email addresses, please be sure to verify which email address you used during checkout. Our system will send the shipment information to the email you listed when placing your order.
Orders of 20 - 28 queens will be shipped out by UPS Next Day Air for free shipping method. Orders of 29 or more queens will ship by UPS Next Day Air Early for the free shipping method. We can ship out orders of 20 or more queens by the free shipping method of the USPS, if you would prefer them arrive at your post office instead of ride around in the UPS delivery truck and sit outside of your house. Please let us know during the check out process by leaving us a comment about shipping by USPS instead of UPS.
During any time that UPS suspends their service guarantee, Lappe's Bee Supply is unable to replace queens if they die due to a delayed shipment.

Italian hygienic Hybrid honey bees are the most recommended for beginning bee keeping, because they are very gentle and easy for the beekeeper to work with, and they are excellent pollinators. Because of these characteristics, the Italian Hybrid bee is considered to be the best all purpose bee for keeping bees. These queens have been used a lot by our customers in the southern states to requeen swarms of Africanized honey bees. The queens lay a lot of eggs starting early in the spring, which makes them build up their populations early, and they are able to maintain the high populations in the bee hives through out the summer months. This in turn increases the amount of foraging that they are able to do, for high honey production during honey flows. Another benefit of having a strong colony is that the bees are better able to resist wax moths and other bee colony pests more efficently. Italian Hybrid honeybees can easily adapt to most climates, they overwinter well, and the worker bees are also good at keeping a clean hive. One downside with the higher populations and honey production is that if you don't keep an eye on them, they can fill up the brood nests and honey supers quickly and prepare to swarm.
Italian Hybrid honey bees also have a very good Varroa mite resistance, due to their combined genetics between the VSH Minnesota Hygienic Italian bees and Carniolan bees; however, we still strongly recommend treating your bees for mites every spring and every fall, since there is no such thing as a completely mite resistant honey bee. Treating them will get rid of the mites, which will make the bees healthier and stronger, and will result in better colonies and higher honey productions. If you are looking for Italian Hybrid gentle breed honey bee queens for sale near me, Lappe's Bee Supply is the answer! We make buying a high quality queen bee easy with our online ordering process!
They arrived 1 day after shipping. I put them in the hives that night. 3 days later they were all released and I had eggs in frames. A+
She was in great shape and they have released her already laying
I have bought eight queens from lappe so far, these are some of the best queens I have had in the 5 years I have had bees! I checked some hives today and they are fat laying machines! I will be getting more for replacements when ready.
I ordered a marked queen, she arrived in good health; she was caged with nurse bees and a candy plug which made for easy introduction to the split
Received Queen less than 48 hours after I placed the order. Arrived in perfect condition. Zero problems Highly recommend.

Fast shipping and queens arrived healthy will be ordering many more for splits
Hello, I have not worked with Lappe's Bee Supply before this purchase. I was a little hesitant about the priority USPS shipping, but after speaking with a representative I was convinced to take a chance. I received excellent communications regarding the shipping, tracked the delivery and on Day 2, my new Queen arrived. The queen and her attendants were lively. Queen Bella arrived in her new hive, the morning of Day 3. Four days later, checking the hive, she had been successfully released and the hive was busy and calm. Thank you Lappe's for a pleasant experience!
Great communications and Delivered ontime and in great shape. Will know in a couple weeks how well they do. Thanks
