What will you learn in the Beginner Beekeeper Weekly Guide?
We will help you work through the decisions that come before your first bees arrive, including choosing equipment, understanding the difference between package bees and nucs, and preparing a place for your hive.
As the series continues, we will cover feeding, inspections, colony health, mite management, seasonal care, and common beginner mistakes. Each lesson will focus on a manageable topic and explain what it means for someone just getting started.
Who is this guide for?
This guide is designed for people who are thinking about keeping bees, preparing for their first colony, or working through their first season. You are also welcome to join if you are helping someone else get started or would like to review the basics.
When will the weekly lessons begin?
Weekly lessons begin in January 2027.
Sign up now to receive a few getting-started emails before the weekly series begins. You do not need to own bees or have all your equipment purchased to join.
Why do we ask for your beekeeping ZIP code?
We are planning seasonal timing notes for different U.S. climates rather than using one calendar for everyone. Your beekeeping ZIP code will help us organize that guidance.
Please enter the ZIP code where you keep or plan to keep your bees. That may be different from your home or mailing address.
Is the guide free?
Yes. The Beginner Beekeeper Weekly Guide is free, and no purchase is required. Some emails will include relevant product recommendations alongside the educational information. You can unsubscribe at any time.
