ALL NEW!! All of our deep bee hive bodies come with your choice of Pierco Triple Waxed plastic one piece frames, or assembled wooden frames with Pierco Triple Waxed foundation! These frames / foundations have the heaviest coating of 100% beeswax available on the market!! The heavier coating of wax helps promote the bees acceptance, and the fresh, natural aroma of the wax helps encourage the bees to start working on it. Your choice of all natural yellow, like beeswax, or black deep. Why settle for less?
Please note: The difference in colors has nothing to do with the bees acceptance; it all has to do with the preference of each beekeeper. The black foundation makes it easy to find out if your queen is alive and laying well: it is easy to see the small white eggs against the black background, so you don't have to see your queen to know that you have one. It also makes it easier to tell if you have a drone layer. Yellow foundation is more like actual beeswax, and it is quite often more preferred by a lot of our customers.
Wax coated beehives have a natural wood finish and preserver that is waterproof and will last for years - these boxes are maintenance free and can outlast almost all other products in the beekeeping industry! Our wax dipped bee hives for sale have the best wax coating for a beehive - the wax is the best wood preservative available! It keeps the wood from rotting and warping and it is the most bee friendly wood finish and preservative around! The wax seals the wood completely, so there is no need to ever paint the box. ~Please note: some surfaces on the boxes might look like there is no wax coating; there is wax covering all of the box surfaces, in some spots the wax might have soaked into the wood more than others.
These wax dipped bee hive boxes have been submerged in 320 degrees F wax for 10 minutes. This way, all of the water that was once in the wood has been boiled out, and replaced with wax.
Made from commercial grade deep brood box parts; expect some knots and cracks on some surfaces. Knot parts may be missing. Please note: splits from stapling are common due to the wood grain and do not compromise the structure or useability of the frame. We do not replace or refund the frames due to this.
