Three hole queen cages include screens, corks and candy covers. These larger wooden queen cages are called 3 hole because of the 3 holes drilled in the middle of this cage. Fill one hole with fondant candy (candy not included with cages), place candy cover over the fondant, then place the wire screen on top and staple on both ends to secure the queen and her attendants. Two additional holes give the queen and her attendants plenty of room for moving around during transport or hive introduction. These three hole queen cages are the best type of three hole cages available compared to other styles, they have a concave top to maximize on the air flow to keep the queen and her attendants cooler when packed together during transport.
