This kit comes with everything you need to set up your hive quickly and conveniently. Made with pine and pre-assembled and wax dipped, all you have to do is remove it from the shipping box and add your bees! The hive is constructed using commercial-grade materials, ensuring durability and longevity.
One of the standout features of this bee hive kit is the choice of frames. You can opt for Pierco Triple Waxed plastic one-piece frames or assembled wooden frames with Pierco Triple Waxed foundation. Both options come with the heaviest coating of 100% beeswax, which promotes the bees' acceptance and encourages them to start working on it. The wax coating also prevents bees from leaving the hive after installation. You can choose between all-natural yellow, or black deep/yellow honey super, according to your preference. The triple waxed foundation is the heaviest offered in bee hives in the industry!!
Please note: The difference in colors has nothing to do with the bees acceptance; it all has to do with the preference of each beekeeper. The black foundation makes it easy to find out if your queen is alive and laying well: it is easy to see the small white eggs against the black background, so you don't have to see your queen to know that you have one. It also makes it easier to tell if you have a drone layer. Yellow foundation is more like actual beeswax, and it is quite often more preferred by a lot of our customers.
The wax-coated beehives in this kit have a natural wood finish and preservative that is waterproof and long-lasting. The wax coating seals the wood completely, preventing rotting and warping, and offering the best protection for your bees. These maintenance-free boxes can outlast other beehive products in the industry, making them a reliable investment. Please note that some surfaces on the boxes may have variations in wax coating, but all surfaces are coated with wax, in some spots the wax might have soaked into the wood more than others. The boxes have undergone a wax-dipping process, with the wood being submerged in 320 degrees F wax for 10 minutes to ensure complete protection.

This hive is assembled using commercial grade hive body and honey super parts; expect some knots & cracks on wax dipped surfaces. Please note: splits from stapling are common on frames due to the wood grain and do not compromise the structure or useability of the frame. We do not replace or refund the frames due to this.
