When applying these pollen patties, it's recommended to place 1-3 patties (depending on amount of bees in hive) directly atop the brood box, laying them on the top bars of the hive. Ensure side with perforated paper is placed down so that bees have access to patty through the holes underneath. This method ensures the bees have immediate and easy access to the feed. Bees will chew up paper and remove from hive as needed.
