Before Filling
Inspect glass packaging and closures before use. Set aside jars with chips, cracks, rim damage, damaged lug areas, embedded contamination, or other questionable structural defects. - Inspect the jar and lid; make sure they are clean and completely dry.
- Place the empty jar on a scale and tare the scale when filling to an accurate net weight.

- Position the lug lid squarely and tighten it into its normal engaged position without forcing it.
- Apply an optional shrink band when used.
- Add the lid label or neck hang tag and complete a final appearance and closure check.
If a lid starts crooked or requires abnormal force, remove it and inspect both components before trying again.
For this jar and lid combination, the supplied 63mm lug lid is applied by positioning it squarely on the jar and hand-tightening it until it is fully engaged. No additional heat-sealing step is used to attach the lid itself.
If you package honey for retail sale, determine whether tamper-evident packaging, labeling, or other requirements apply to your operation. Optional safety shrink bands are available separately for customers who want an additional tamper-evident feature.
Care and Storage
Keep unused jars and lids indoors in a clean, dry location where they are protected from dust, moisture, and impact. Store lids so the plastisol liners remain clean and undamaged.
Store filled honey jars in a clean, dry location at normal room temperatures and away from direct sunlight or unnecessary heat. Honey may naturally crystallize over time; crystallization by itself does not indicate a problem with the jar.
For commercial honey packaging, use clean, new jars and closures. Set aside any jar or lid that becomes chipped, cracked, damaged, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable for food packaging.
