It should first be noted I’m a new beekeeper, so I don’t really have a comparison. But so far I have loved this bottom board. The pull out inspection tray is very convenient, the reducers / mouse guards very easy to use, and as it got hot just removing that inspection tray has really helped provide good ventilation for the hive. It continues to be sturdy and strong. One of my hives is now 3 deep boxes tall and I have no concerns about it supporting that weight. I couldn’t be happier and in fact, just ordered another so I’m stocked and ready in the event of a split, swarm, or some other need to establish another colony.

These bottom boards are the best on the market. Lappes bee supply is the only one I’ve found that always have these in stock. I have 24 hives and all have these bottom boards. Lappes bee supply is the best.

I’ve been a beekeeper for four years and currently have 19 hives. This is the only bottom board I use. It’s light weight, doesn’t rot and I love the way the entrance reducers are made. I can totally close off the bees for transport if I need to. It’s a superb product at a very reasonable cost. If you have not tried these out you should. You will not be disappointed.

Seems to be quite durable. Love the idea of mouse proof entrances. Will be putting up with new hive this week with package pickup on 4/6.

I own 5 of these. They never rot, I love the double sided entrance reducer. Slide the screened bottom insert in for winter and out for our brutal Kansas summers.

I ordered two ultimate bottom boards from Lappe’s. Service was outstanding as always. I have to say the boards are great quality. I love the material they are made from. I’m sure they will be pest resistant and outlive me. Thanks again Lappe’s. Y’all rock!
