Product Overview
HiveAlive Fondant Patties Winter Honey Bee Feed - Singles or Case
These fondant patties are an excellent way to prevent the starvation of bees over winter and early spring, but they work any time of the year that you need to feed your bees - spring, summer, fall and winter! By placing the fondant directly over the cluster they always have direct access to food. The premade patties have the correct dose of HiveAlive incorporated, which has additional vitamins and amino acids added to optimize bee health. Contains natural active ingredients with very fine particle size sugar for enhanced digestion, these patties are thin with a flat packaging to allow ease of placement directly on top of the beehive colony.
What is Fondant? - Fondant is an excellent source of emergency feed in the winter time, when it is too cold to feed syrup, to prevent the bees from starving if they run out of their food stores. Placing it directly over the cluster means that the bees don't have to leave the cluster to access the feed, which minimizes the chances of starvation. Fondant is easy to handle and store, and it doesn't cause robbing like syrup can when fed at certain times of the year. Give fondant patties to the bees as needed; check hives regularly (weather premitting) to see if fondant is being used up and replace with new fondant package as necessary. *Please note: HiveAlive Fondant Patties should not be used when honey supers are on, or during honey collection time.
