Oxalic acid is a natural product used to control Varroa mites. This product is most effective when used during early spring or late fall, when there is a minimal amount of brood in the hive; oxalic acid will not control Varroa mites that are in the capped brood.
There are 3 different methods for treatment: the vaporizer method, the dribble method, and you can also use it as a spray on your new package bees before transferring the bees into the hive. Follow the directions for each method exactly as indicated on the label.
Each 35 gram pack will treat 20 colonies using the dribble method and 35 colonies using the vaporizer method.
