Honey Lip Balm
1/2 c. natural beeswax, grated
1/4 c. coconut oil
10 - 12 drops essential oil (lemon, vanilla, etc.)
1 tsp. honey
2 drops Vitamin E oil
12 small containers with lids
Place grated beeswax and coconut oil in heatproof glass bowl. In medium saucepan, heat 1-1/2 c. water to boiling. Carefully place glass dish in boiling water; stir as wax begins to melt. When melted, remove bowl from saucepan. Stir in essential oil of your preference, honey and Vitamin E oil. Immediately pour into small containers, using small funnel. Cover; cool completely.
Beeswax Wood Polish
1/4 c. grated beeswax
1 c. oil of choice (olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, etc.)
Fill a large 4 cup glass measuring cup with the 1 cup of the oil of your choice. Add the grated beeswax to the oil in your glass measuring cup until it rises to the 1-1/4 c. line. Place the glass measuring cup filled with oil and beeswax into a pan of water. Place on stovetop and bring water to a gentle boil. The temperature will need to get above 150°F in order to melt the beeswax. Gently stir as the beeswax and oil are warming up; as the beeswax melts, it will blend into the oil. This process can take anywhere between 10 - 15 minutes. Remove the measuring cup from the pan once the beeswax is melted. Pour the hot mixture into a wide mouth container that is heatproof. As the mixture cools, stir every 30 minutes or so to prevent it from separating. The product will completely cool in about 2 hours. Once the mixture is completely cooled, you can begin to use it. To use, rub a small amount into any wood object in your house. A small dab goes a long way. Wipe the excess off with a soft cloth.
