Apiguard 50g Foil Pack - Case of 10
Apiguard is a natural product that is safe to honeybees and to brood and has no harmful effect on the colony. Apiguard is an easy treatment to use with an overall average efficiency of 93%. There are no risks to beekeepers when using this product, and it is ideal to use with your IPM (Integrated Pest Management) programs. Apiguard is highly effective against Varroa Mites, Tracheal Mites and Chalkbrood. These foil pack singles contain 50g of a slow release gel that ensures correct dosage of the active ingredient, Thymol. Thymol is a naturally occurring substance derived from the Thyme plant.
Directions: Use two 50g trays per hive, 14 days apart. Use when there is not a honey flow and when honey supers are not on. Be sure to allow at least 1/4" spacing between the top of the tray and your inner cover; use shims or empty supers as needed. Screened bottom boards should be closed while using Apiguard treatments. Place opened tray of Apiguard face up on top of the brood chamber frames, centered over the colony. Check the tray after 10 days. If almost empty, replace with a second tray. If not yet empty, leave for another 4 days and then replace with the second tray. Leave the second tray on for an additional 2-4 weeks until emptied. The Apiguard treatment will then be finished.
