It allows just enough air flow between your hive bodies and the wrap to get rid of excess moisture; without it, you could end up with deteriorated boxes and a moisture problem on the inside of the hive. Moisture on the inside of the hive can lead to moldy frames and can even cause the death of your entire hive.**

I really like these wraps. Very easy so install. My bees stay nice and warm all winter. Even my 1 story hives do well with these wraps. I've used them with and without insulation in top lid.

This worked nicely for wrapping my hive! I tried a different hive cover that was too small because i have handles on my supers. This fit over the supers, handles and all!

I have tried many of the winter coverings and the bee cozy looks to be the best over all. You get insulation and protection in one application. We have enough things to carry to the hives. This elimate the caring of extra stuff. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good product.
