Gentle Carniolan Queen Honey Bees - Shipped Starting April 2020

We are currently taking pre-orders for shipping out queens beginning in April, 2020. Order now to benefit from 2019 prices & get your name on the list to get the first available shipping dates! Orders usually get booked through the end of May.

We will contact you by email closer to April to set up a shipping date that will work for you. First orders placed get first choice at shipping dates.

PLEASE NOTE: When starting a new bee hive, you need to purchase a package of bees with a queen, not just a queen. Without the 2 or 3 pounds of worker bees, the queen will not be able to survive and will die.

All orders of 3 queens or more qualify for free shipping! Free shipped queen orders of 3-9 will be sent out through the USPS. Shipping times vary between 2-3 days, depending on your location. It has been taking an extra day longer in some instances. The queen shipment will be marked to be held at your post office, and they will give you a call at the number that you specify to alert you to come and pick them up. You need to pick them up the day that they call you so the queens survive. Lappe's Bee Supply and Honey Farm is not responsible for any queens that are not picked up in time, or for any queens that are delivered to mailboxes at the customer's request to the post office.

Orders of 10-19 queens will be shipped for free by UPS 2nd Day Air, and orders of 20 or more queens will be shipped for free by UPS Next Day Air.

We can ship by USPS, UPS Next Day Air or UPS 2nd Day Air. All shipped queens are sent out at customer's risk. We can not insure queen honey bees.

We can mark queens for an additional fee of $4 each. Please let us know which color you would like to have her marked. The International Color for 2020 is blue, but if you are only marking her to make it easier to spot her, you can choose whichever color you think would make her easy to find. If you want your queens marked but do not make a color selection, the current year's color will be used.

Queen honey bees cannot survive for long outside of the hive! Your queen needs to be inside of the hive where the bees can feed her and give her water. Please plan on putting your queen into your hive shortly after getting her. Please do not leave queen bees sitting on the counter overnight!

We recommend placing your queens into your hives as soon as you receive them; it is hard on the queens to leave them sitting for awhile without being inside the hive.

  • Queen is young, naturally mated and unmarked.
  • We DO NOT clip the queens wings.
  • We can only ship queens to the United States at this time; we do not do international shipments for queens.

Place your order online to purchase your queen honey bees. Give us a call at 641-728-4361 or send us an email with any questions that you may have - we are always happy to speak with you! Lappe's Bee Supply and Honey Farms is a 2020 supplier company of queen honey bees for sale and have several listings for different types of queens to buy.

Carniolan Queens

5/5
Once again I've purchased Carniolan Queens from Lappe's and once again I'm very pleased with both their service and quality of queens. Received my queens within 3-days of placing order and after their first week in the hive are already producing eggs. Happy customer from SE Missouri.

Carniolan Queens

This time I only ordered two queens for late package queen replacement. Again, arrived happy, healthy and ready to go. In fact, they were bigger than queens I’ve gotten in the past and therefore, ready to go! Will continue to order these queens.

Carniolan Queen

This was my first bee order in 9 years of beekeeping. I was very pleased with the online ordering process, simple to use and easy to understand. Queen arrived right on time at post office marked as promised. Had her in my hands within 15 min. Great packaging for safe handling. Queen was vigorous and well attended by nurse bees. Queen was laying within one day of release. I definitely will order again. Great service.

They shipped the Queen when I asked for them to ship it. I delayed shipping because I was going to be out of town. She came earlier than expected and was very lively and was ready to get out of her cage when I was hiving her.

Carniolan Queen

Amazingly fast shipping. She was shipped out on a Monday afternoon and arrived at my post office, in a small town in Western Colorado, Wednesday morning. The one sided cage and her dark coloring, made it difficult to inspect her, so I had to assume that she was in the cage and healthy. My workers seemed to accept her in the cage, without much issue. After 3 days, the candy plug was still mostly intact. By day 5, the plug was gone and I found her on a frame doing her royal duties. She appeared smallish yet healthy and active. All in all a great experience, one I will gladly repeat, if needed.
