  • 2 c. Milk
  • 1/3 c. Honey
  • 1 Tbsp. Salt
  • 1/4 c. Oil
  • 2 pkg. Dry Yeast
  • 1/4 c. Warm Water
  • 3-1/2 c. Whole Wheat Flour
  • 3-1/2 c. White Unbleached Flour

Warm the milk. Add in the honey, salt and oil. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water; add to milk mixture. Mix both flours together in large bowl; add 1/3 c. flour to the milk mixture at a time and mix until blended. Continue with the rest of the flour and mix until a stiff dough is formed.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 - 10 minutes. Place dough into a greased bowl; turn once to coat. Cover and let raise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 50 minutes. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into the shape of a loaf; place each loaf into a greased bread pan. Cover and let raise 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350° F. Bake loaves for 40 minutes or until done. Remove loaves from pans; brush the tops of each with melted butter. Let loaves cool.
